Christmas Party and General Assembly – Celebrating God’s goodness to MMP throughout the year 2023

MMP recently hosted its much-anticipated annual Christmas Party on December 8, 2023, joined by beloved partners. This year’s celebration centered around the theme “Diwa ng Pasko sa Puso ng Pilipino,” beautifully encapsulating the essence of the Filipino Christmas spirit. The event was a vibrant tribute to the rich traditions that make Christmas in the Philippines truly remarkable.

The gathering resonated with the lively spirit of Filipino Christmas traditions. Laughter echoed through the venue as attendees engaged in various games and enjoyed captivating intermission numbers thoughtfully presented by our esteemed partners.

The delicious spread of traditional Filipino food, which included a variety of well-loved dishes and well-known kakanin (local rice cakes), was one of the event’s highlights.
A raffle draw was also organized to increase the excitement of the event and provide participants the chance to win unique gifts that were kindly donated by the Board of Trustees and MMP’s renowned partners. The extra layer of excitement and expectation that these contributions brought to the event demonstrated the generosity of heart.

Dr. Chonabelle M. Domingo, President and CEO of MMP also gave an Annual Report to the partners. What transpired for MMP for the year 2023, and how God has blessed and carry us through. She also highlights the upcoming programs and projects of MMP.

Here are some of the projects of MMP for next year:

School Readiness Program (SRP). It is an informal initiative designed to nurture the holistic development of children from birth through school entrance age. The program emphasizes the enhancement of various skills crucial for a child’s overall growth
Remedial Reading Program (RRP). It is a tailored approach for struggling readers. It is a specialized intervention designed to support children facing challenges in reading, spanning all age groups. The program adopts the proven Marungko Approach, leveraging Tagalog as the initial native language for the reading journey.
Kidpreneurship Program (KP): Empowering Young Minds for Entrepreneurial Excellence. A special initiative designed to introduce children to the dynamic world of enterepreneurship. Inspired by the wisdom found in Deuteronomy 28:13 which declares, “ And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath,” our program aims to instill a forward-thinking mind-set in children. By heeding the commandments of the Lord and observing them diligently, we believe these young minds can shape their future as leaders.
Developmentally Appropriate Sunday School Pragram (DAP SS). A transformative enchancement to the existing Sunday school classes designed exclusively for children. This innovative Sunday school enrichment program aims to provide a tailored experience and lessons that resonate with the unique qualities and giftedness of each child.

Celebrating Talents and Entrepreneurship: A Heartwarming Event in Honor of Jesus’s Birthday

In the spirit of giving and celebration this Christmas season, Mission Ministries Philippines hosted its 20th Show of Talents and Kidpreneur Fair last December 1, 2023 at JFD stadium in San Mateo Rizal. The event was a remarkable gathering where students from 12 partner schools of MMP came together to share their unique gifts in honor of Jesus’s birthday.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the fair was the children’s entrepreneurial skills. The Kidprenuers set up stalls to sell their handmade creations and products. From handmade jewelry, eco-friendly crafts and delicious sweets, even selling of native products from Ifugao, Mountain Province as one of the partners came all the way from the Northen part of Luzon.

Adding to the event is the wonderful performance of the talented magician who captivated both the parents and children, adding an additional element of wonder and excitement.
Moreover, MMP invited Pastor Vergilio Lapena, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of MMP and now one of its International Adviser, to impart the true meaning Christmas and that is the love of our heavenly Father. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to save us. This is the main objective of the event to spread the Gospel to Jesus.

Dr. Philip Paleracio, a Filipino Doctor in U.S. and friend of one of the International Advisers of MMP also graced the event and gave an inspiring message to all present.

The “Show of Talents and Kidpreneur Fair” was a resounding success, not only in terms of talents rendered and products sold, but also in fostering a sense of community, encouragement among the partner schools, the parents and the students. And as we reflect on this joyous occasion, let us remember the that Jesus Christ is God’s greatest gift to us.

First Refresher Course: Raising The Child’s Higher Order Thinking Skills

Learning is more than answering yes or no, memorization or reciting list of facts. It is in making sense of the information by analyzing and comparing or in short adapting a higher thinking skill. Learning to think critically is a life skill. This is the objective of the recent seminar conducted by Mission Ministries Philippines last October 28, 2023 at Proclaim His Name Christian Fellowship Church in Quezon City. It was the first face-to-face seminar after the pandemic.

The seminar was facilitated by Prof. Lynne Grace Hernandez, administrator and teacher of her own school, SEED. She has a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of the Philippines (Cum Laude) She finished her Master of Arts in Family Life and Child Development in U.P., Diliman and she is finishing her Doctorate in Holistic Child Development at Asia Graduates School of Theology.
The seminar aims to empower educators with innovative tools that will foster higher-order thinking skill among their students. It also helps the educators to go beyond what they usually do for their students but also for them to aim higher in teaching.

One of the highlights of the event was the hands-on workshops where participants actively engaged in practical exercises designed to implement high-order thinking strategies in real-world classroom scenarios. These sessions fostered a sense of empowerment among educators, equipping them with tangible tools to inspire intellectual curiosity and analytical thinking in their students.

This is a momentous occasion, not only for our partners but for the entire community that will benefit from the wonderful educational opportunities you are about to provide.

As we embark on a journey filled with hope, excitement, and the promise of nurturing young minds. You our partners have invested your time, energy, and passion into creating a nurturing and educational environment for our youngest learners, and we are truly fortunate to have you as part of our educational family.

Your preschool represents more than just a building with classrooms; it symbolizes the dreams and aspirations of our partners to make a positive impact on the lives of children. It signifies the beginning of a child’s educational journey, where they will explore, learn, and grow in an environment filled with care, guidance, and love. Mostly, it is a platform where you could intentionally share the gospel by offering a quality Developmentally Christian Early Childhood Education.

“Get Ready to Soar: MMP Welcomes the Exciting School Year 2023-2024!”

With the theme “Bridging the Gap from the Online Platform to Face-to-Face in Early Childhood Education,” Mission Ministries Philippines welcomes the school year 2023–2024 by hosting its annual Early Childhood Education seminars on August 10–12, 2023, for teachers, and on August 17–19, 2023, for administrators. As we advance into the post-pandemic season, MMP stays true to its calling by educating administrators and teachers on issues that are current with the times. The speakers for the aforementioned seminars provided their expertise not just in terms of theory but also on a practical level that the attendees could relate to using examples from their own experiences. This created a vibrant discussion as the attendees expressed their ideas and insights.

With the start of the academic year, four new schools adhere to God’s calling and partner with Mission Ministries Philippines. MMP welcomes the new partners, namely: Elyon Child Development Centre, headed by Ms. Mena G. Rivera, from Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija; and Racham Wilbeth School Inc., headed by Ms. Micciella Ma. Keina Jane L. Pabalate from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Thrivers Learning Center, headed by Pastor Robin Abano, from Dasmarinas Cavite, and Grace Christian School of Life, headed by Pastor Nimrod J. Embalzado, from Trece Martires, Cavite. Dr. Chonabelle M. Domingo, President and CEO of MMP, salutes these new schools as well as its renewal partners for their steadfast support over the years. Their continuous partnership and patronage of the books of MMP greatly help in accomplishing its mandate.

The Training Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education, another program of MMP in collaboration with Asian Theological Seminary, starts its new batch this September with 12 new students in the Child and Development module. The success of the previous batch in the online modality prompted the management to continue offering it online. This extends beyond borders and broadens the impact of early childhood education from the perspective of God’s word. As the Lord expands the tents of MMP, so does the growing number of speakers. MMP invites additional professors in the ECE modules to give quality education to our educators. This training certificate is PRC accredited and has six units credit approved by the Commission on Higher Education. Enrollment is still ongoing. MMP intends to resume in-person seminars, starting with this October 28, 2023, refresher course entitled Raising the Child’s Higher Order Thinking Skills. Early Childhood Seminar Level 1 in Collaboration with Agape Partners Academy

We are delighted to share the wonderful news that another successful Early Childhood Seminar Level 1 was held on June 12-14, 2023, at Mati, Davao.

This event was organized in collaboration with Agape Partners Academy, a remarkable educational institution that has been a partner of MMP since 2008.

Initially starting with just eight students, the school has flourished over the years and now boasts an enrollment of over 700 students. Agape Partners Academy offers a comprehensive Christian curriculum spanning from Kindergarten to Junior High, consistently providing high-quality education in Davao.

The school has gained recognition as the leading institution for delivering excellent Christian education in the region, setting a benchmark for educational standards. The immense growth and progress they have achieved are truly remarkable. Witnessing this remarkable journey, we express our gratitude to Jesus for blessing Agape Partners Academy and enabling them to expand their impact. It is truly a testament to the dedication, hard work, and commitment of the school’s staff, students, and supporters.

With this significant milestone, Agape Partners Academy is now poised to open another branch, extending their influence and enriching the lives of more students. Transformed Teachers, Transformed Generation

After three arduous years of grappling with the global pandemic, where no students were able to enroll, we are overjoyed to announce that we finally have a group of ten exceptional individuals who successfully completed their Certificate course in Early Childhood Education on June 26, 2023.

This momentous achievement was made possible through our valued partnership with the Asian Theological Seminary. To our esteemed graduates, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes as you embark on this noble journey of transforming the lives of our early learners. Your dedication, perseverance, and commitment to the field of education are truly commendable. As you now formally assume the responsibility of shaping the minds and futures of our young ones, may the divine blessings of the Lord be upon you. May you find fulfillment, joy, and satisfaction in the remarkable work you have chosen. We take immense pride in your accomplishments and are confident that you will excel in your chosen path. You have overcome numerous obstacles and demonstrated exceptional resilience during these unprecedented times. Your unwavering determination serves as an inspiration to us all.

“God’s Plan for Family: Nurturing Parenting Seminar”

A Parenting seminar was conducted by Mission Ministries Philippines and partner school Head Start Learning Center last February 8, 2023, at Bagong Silangang, Quezon City.

Dr. Chonabelle Domingo the speaker of the said seminar, highlighted the purpose of God for creating a family and the challenges faced by parents in today’s fast-paced and rapidly changing world. The lecture covers other topics like Understanding the Behavioral Problems, Nature of the children, and Disciplinary Measures.

During group discussions, participants had the opportunity to express their own thoughts and experiences, which sparked parent cooperation and networking. Parents can impart knowledge and insights and learn from one another during the event.

In the end, the attendees were grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow as parents and expressed their appreciation for the organizers’ efforts.

ECE Seminar at K.I.L.A.

On March 17, 2023, Kids International Learning Academy (KILA) in Binangonan, Rizal, hosted a seminar on Early Childhood Care, organized by Mission Ministries Philippines (MMP). Ms. Elizabeth Anne King-Santos, an expert in early childhood education and the author of MMP’s Toddlers Curriculum, led the seminar as one of MMP’s on-call trainers and consultants. Ms. Santos is also a preschool owner and homeschool educator, a professor in the Training Certificate of MMP and ATS, and a regular speaker in the annual ECE seminars of MMP.

The seminar covered various topics such as Philosophy in Early Childhood Education, Assessment, Methods of Teaching, Classroom Management, and Classroom Discipline. The principal and part-owner of KILA, Ms. Joan Ong, organized the seminar. Ms. Ong is also the author of MMP’s Math Made Easy book and a former seminar lecturer.

KILA started as a small preschool in a small space in partnership with MMP in 2000. Over the years, it has grown into a prominent school in their area, offering Secondary education to the children of missionaries. The seminar marked a revival of their partnership with MMP.
